Update - 15th June 2008

Wonderful news! This dog has been saved from being put to sleep and is now in training at a dog behaviouralist kennels. Apparently he has been doing very well and has not shown any sign of aggression. Congratulations to al involved in the rescue!

This is this boy's sad story and his picture is below:
 
Male Rottweiler. Estimated age 6 -8 years. Not neutered.
Handed into pound in distressing circumstances. Owner had been beating the dog regularly. A member of the public tried to intervene on one occassion. The owner held the man's partner at knife point, stole £50 and told them to keep the dog. They handed him in to the pound.

Lisa has met the dogs and can give an assessment of temperament. Some of the dogs for whom Lisa is responsible may also go to foster although I don't know if this is the case with this poor boy.
 
I DO KNOW THAT HE DESERVES THE CHANCE TO LIVE!

Please don't ignore this if there is something you can do to help. Niall and Lisa are desperately trying to find a space at a rescue centre, a breed rescue or a suitable new owner. So far, all rescue centres and breed rescues are saying they are full up or can't take a dog who may be aggressive. As of Wednesday evening (7th August), the status is that there is no solution yet to prevent this poor dog from being euthanised. He is currentlybeing held at a boarding kennel in Sevenoaks, Kent.
